Many of us, perhaps, have purchased wireless speakers, such as Sonos, or wireless Bluetooth headphones that allow wireless transmission of audio from device-to-device. Most of these devices let you listen to a TV or audio in different rooms or remote locations without worrying about a physical connection. This eliminates the need for wiring and technical understanding of how to connect the devices with each other. Many of the existing products are compatible with audio/video equipment. The CloviFi device works the way as existing devices that users are using at home and work. It is simple to use, compact, affordable, safe, and easy to install on any TV (the back of the housing includes attachment prongs to mount CloviFi to a television, wall, or other surface). The CloviFi device lets people use any of their old-school wired devices wirelessly, by employing something you probably already keep in your pocket — your smartphone. We did our market research and found out that: ● In the US, 1 in 6 adults aged 18 and over report some trouble hearing and the majority of people do not seek solutions to this problem because they do not feel old, not ready for hearing aids, or do not know about assistive listening devices that could help; ● Hearing aids aren’t always needed for people with some hearing loss and are usually an expensive option; ● Current wireless solutions do not provide a home-like experience for listening to a TV with more than one set of earphones at personal audio levels; ● TV sound adds unneeded confusion and noise, so they are often muted in public areas. ● No Wi-Fi audio solutions for hearing impaired or general public are installed in public areas, such as gyms, bars, schools, hospitals, airports, etc. We need to understand which market segments from below will bring most of ROI and whether the product will be well accepted in those markets: Based on CloviFi's application, the Global Wireless Audio Device market is segmented into two categories: consumer and home application and commercial application. As of 2011, household ownership of television sets in the country is 99%, and the majority of households have more than one set, with approximately 114,200,000 American households owning at least one television set as of August 2013 The first target, and primary market, is individual home owners with one or more TVs at home that require an Assistive Listening Device (ALD) and may need a device to listen to a TV privately and do not require an ALD. Approximately 15% of American adults (37.5 million) aged 18 and over report some trouble hearing, and we think that with proper marketing strategy we can reach approximately 25% of that market. There is an increase in the number of people on the street or on the train wearing large models that used to be worn primarily at home, while others are attached to their earbuds 24/7, even while watching movies or TV. Several local businesses have already expressed their interest in the CloviFi device to provide TV content to their consumers in hospital waiting rooms and patient rooms. However, the business version device will be launched after raising additional funds for R&D, production setup, and go-to-market strategy.
